Have you ever wanted learn the ancient art of Ikebana Japanese flower arrangement? Join Dolly Smith and Patti Bishop, members of Ikebana International Organization of Traverse City!

Dolly & Patty will demonstrate and assist you in making a beautiful Ikebana arrangement using specific pottery vessels by local artist June Otis.  

April & May workshops will focus on 2 variations of Ikebana called Ikenobo Shoka Sanshuike and Ikenobo Free Style, as well as skill building. 

Each workshop will result in a new take-home arrangement.
You can attend either class or both! 


Includes all materials, flowers and Otis Pottery floral arranging vessel.
Students will need to bringFloral clippers & pruning shears and a low box to take your arrangement home in.
**If taking both workshops, you will only need to buy one container to use for both workshops.


In ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging, blossoms, branches, leaves, and stems find new life as materials for art making. In contrast to the western habits of casually placing flowers in a vase, ikebana aims to bring out the inner qualities of flowers and other live materials and express emotion.
