Artist and teacher Megan Swoyer returns for her fifth workshop here with area participants. Watercolorists of all levels are invited to join Megan in this fun and relaxing class that features loose-style painting. Hydrangea, sunflowers, daisies, and more make up this gorgeous arrangement. Megan goes step by step and demonstrates each step. A variety of techniques will be used including wet-into-wet and wet-into-dry.
No experience necessary, this class is for beginners to experienced.
Students must bring their own supplies, or purchase a kit directly from Megan.
Supplies Needed:
Watercolor paints: including a favorite blue, Cerulean blue, a bright yellow, orange, brown, ocher, pink, sap green.
Optional: A white crayon or white taper candle, table salt, a few toothpicks.
Watercolor paper: at least 8 x 10 in size and no larger than around 9 x 12.
Brushes: preferably round brushes (not flat) that are for watercolor painting, in sizes from small like a 0 or 1 to a 6 or 8.
2B regular pencil. Eraser that’s not your pencil eraser.
It’s also nice to have a board that’s perhaps a cardboard siding or box siding, cut a little bigger than paper.
Painter’s Tape (like the blue tape wall painters use) to tape your paper down to your board. Or, if your paper is in block you won’t need to tape it.
If you need supplies and are interested in purchasing a beginner supply kit that has everything you need, email Megan at [email protected]. She has some options for you that run from $10 to $23.
Space is limited and Pre-Registration is required.
