Walk-Run for a Cure Breast Cancer 5k

Run-Walk for a Cure! This 5k race raises funds for the community hospital to help support individuals battling breast cancer. The event honors two courageous local women: Sue DeYoung, a young mother of four children that died in 1992, and Judy Edger, who was a driving force behind this event until her death in March 1999. Monies raised this year will go to the Charlevoix County Circle of Strength Foundation, to provide mammograms for women in need, and the Health Department of Northwest Michigan, to be used for the free cervical screening program for Charlevoix County residents.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the walk and run begin at 9 a.m. Individual walkers, runners and teams can collect "pledges" for participating in the walk, or sponsor themselves with a one time donation. All entries with $30 or more in donations will receive a commemorative t-shirt.
