Address

Charlevoix, MI 49720
Phone

Stafford's Weathervane serves incredible lunch and dinner entrées, all made from scratch with only the season’s finest ingredients. The focal point of their indoor dining room is a massive stone fireplace with a history all its’ own. Made of glacial boulders and shaped like Michigan’s lower peninsula, the fireplace actually replicates a map of the state including highways and interstates. Enjoy this one-of-a-kind arboretum atmosphere overlooking the beautiful Pine River Channel.

The Weathervane does not, at any time, enforce a dress code. It is their mission to allow guests the comfort they need to properly enjoy the Weathervane's culinary creations.

4 stars for atmosphere- they have old table and chairs outside and not cleaning up that well. It would be 5 stars if they updated outside patio to match the quality of resturant then be 5. The service was okay food- plating was poor and especially for kids meals. Kids burger doesn’t even come with fries or anything- fries 4 dollars more. Wallet was okay but not much taste for 45 dollars. Still a historic gem and that’s why it’s busy.

Arrived before 2:30pm (party of 2) and were turned away due to "changing over" for New Years Eve. It was advertised that regular menu would be available until 4pm, then a special NYE menu. The special time and menus are totally understandable, but we arrived in plenty of time to be served and gone well before the NYE crowd arrived. There were only 2-3 seated tables when we arrived. First time in the area and was looking forward to trying out this highly-recommended restaurant.

Delicious food and great service with an awesome view of the lake channel! The super nice people that work here were able to get us a nice table for our anniversary with just a few minutes wait when there was a line out the door (they don't do reservations). Everything that we ordered was delicious! We especially liked the seafood chowder, French onion soup, and fish and chips made with whitefish. My wife was a fan of the escargot. Service was quick and friendly.

We ate at a quiet time of day, at a table overlooking the river. The service was friendly and prompt, and our food was delicious.

Also designed by Earl Young and conveniently located in the parking lot of the Weathervane Terrace where we stayed. Food was delicious, view of the canal was very cool, we got to see the ferry come through. Rylee was our server and she was excellent. Very engaging and helpful and took that extra step to ask us where we were from and what we doing for our honeymoon. A good server makes such a difference and she was great. If you’re interested in the work of Earl Young, be sure to check out the fireplace and ask to go downstairs for the little museum of his life. Definitely would come back here.
