Smoke on the Water is first and foremost a BBQ joint. They slow-smoke their meats with various fruit woods and maple wood in their smoker that sits right outside the restaurant. SOW prides itself on serving made-from-scratch food, including their own Challah bread used in their Drunken French Toast. They deliver to all downtown businesses and the marina. They are located next to Hoffman Park which overlooks the channel. Come in and borrow a blanket for a picnic.

Great service, nice menu. Had the Vegetarian Benedict and a side of lemon curd pancakes (YUM- should have just gotten that!) with bacon. Homemade, so it takes a little longer. Not someplace to go if you have limited time but worth a stop! *Was not a personally a fan of the homemade ketchup, but it was a nice touch that I appreciated.

Literally the best breakfast I have ever had. The best omelet I ever had was in st louis until this one...it was incredible...and the drunken French toast should be outlawed it's that good. When in Charlevoix this is a must!! The table next to me literally said it was one of the best meals they have had.

Their pancakes are to die for. This place isn't very big but they make up for it in their food. The sour cream pancakes are soft, moist, and delicious. They make their hashbrowns homemade, and their ketchup as well. If you are vacationing or are a local and have never been here, I highly recommend you try this little restaurant that delivers big flavor!

Barbecue for breakfast?!? You betcha!!! Highly recommended…to the point that we ate there before heading to Beaver Island…and then again after we returned. First visit: the pulled pork omelet; the second visit: the smoked brisket hash. Portions are large; the staff is friendly and responsive. Photos? I was too busy eating! But, here’s the real question: Why can’t you find barbecue for breakfast anywhere else?!?

I’m always impressed by the food here - biscuits and gravy, French toast, lemon curd pancakes and sourdough pancakes - it’s all amazing. But what I was most surprised by earlier this week was the service from the Croatian waiter. Not only was he friendly, but had great attention to detail and found ways to help us proactively. We were so impressed!
