The signature piece in the Library's Art Collection is painted on the curved wall at the entry. Artist Charles Thompson designed the mural to reflect the era of the late 1920s in Charlevoix, Michigan, the time of the original construction of the building. This is a must-see location with lots of interesting pieces of artwork, historic charm, and Michigan artifacts. Learn more about the Library.

Amazing library, better than many in larger cities. The staff is very friendly and helpful. And if you like used books, they have a ton of them for sale on the second floor. We must’ve walked out with 40 pounds of books, and only spent 10 dollars. We will definitely be back!

One of the best libraries for kids I’ve ever been to. Love the playgrounds, especially the music area. Awesome for adults too, especially if you need to stop in and do some work.

we were visiting from Chicago during the summer. We decided to stop in with the kids to take a break from walking around downtown. This is an incredible library. Beautiful ! The staff was beyond friendly and helpful. We will be back next summer for sure. Kids section is top notch.

This is truly an impressive built in 1927 to serve as a school. In 2006 it became the Library holding over 40, 000 volumes. Like a lot of  1920's building it was built to be spectacular. Over built with lots of detail. The Library remodel only improved on these while modernizing it. I love this place to relax and enjoy a lot of history. Bravo Charlevoix on your foresight. Overall 5 stars.
